Janeen's On Lake Time Adventures - Sleeping Bear Dunes

A loooonnnngggg over due post on Janeen's Adventures to Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore.

On November 3rd, Janeen had the day off from teaching and decided it was a perfect day for a fall road trip to see the beautiful fall landscape and visit the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore.

I honestly don't know how it's now February 23rd and I'm just now sharing these lovely photos with you.  My regrets!

November 3rd, 2014 Janeen writes:

I had the day off today so we decided to take a road trip.  We enjoyed a day at the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore.  The Fall color is just about gone here in the Mitten. But it's beautiful here anytime of the year!
The views from atop of the Sleeping Bear Dunes are amazing! Beautiful Caribbean blue water. We visited two very popular spots in the park. Pyramid Point was our first stop. The short hike through the woods and up the Dune was worth the views that greeted us!

February Update:  This month Janeen is bundled up for the dead of winter that has invaded the Mitten.  She's an avid outdoors woman and appears to find enjoyment regardless of the elements Mother Nature throws her way.

Shown in the photo below she's enjoying the 5K Winter Snowstorm Snowshoe event held earlier this month.

Meet Janeen, Lakehouse Outfitters Lake Life Apparel Cover Girl . . . and Lake Life Correspondent!

This blog post is a story about how one act of kindness on social media has developed into a new found friendship and an ongoing photo shoot showcasing the beauty of the mitten state, also known as the great state of Michigan all while donning Lakehouse Outfitters lake wear.
Live Love Lake T-Shirt Lake Life Apparel

In early July, we found this post on our facebook page.

Love my new "Live Love Lake" shirt from Lakehouse Outfitters! We live on one of Northern Michigan's beautiful inland lakes, I get lots of compliments when I wear this shirt!! Thanks for the cool design!!  Janeen

To say this simple post "made our day" would be an understatement.

A few weeks later, another friend who's also a customer commented " wasn't that the best photo of your customer from Michigan?  You should ask her to send you more photos wearing your tee shirts."

And so we did.

A simple offer - If we send you a few garments every now and then, would you mind taking photos when the opportunity is right and allowing us use them in our new lake apparel campaign?

Lake Life Apparel.
Designed and Worn by Women Who Live At The Lake.

The answer was YES!  Therefore. . .

Meet Janeen, Lakehouse Outfitters Lake Life Apparel Cover Girl . . . and Lake Life Correspondent!

Janeen and her husband and 2 year old live full time on Crawford Lake in Kalkaska, Michigan one of Michigan's beautiful inland lakes.

BTW - their 2 year old is a chocolate lab named Bo

They love lake living because of all the natural beauty that surrounds them every day! The sunsets & sunrises on the lake are breathtaking! They have a pair of Bald Eagles that nest on their lake that they enjoy watching and have watched them raise two eaglets.

Janeen talks about what a thrill it is to see them first as a baby in the nest and then soaring over their lake, fishing with their Mom and Dad. Janeen enjoys photography and has taken some amazing photos of the eagles.

In early August Janeen was On Lake Time along the beaches of Lake Michigan and promises to share her photos from Grand Traverse Bay on the Tall Ship Manitou.  Stay with us and read more about Janeen's Adventures On Lake Time!

30 Lakes in 30 Blogs...

Lake Sharing continued...

We love our new series title, 30 Lakes in 30 Blogs.  It provides us so much freedom to be blog slackers without the guilt!

Random Thought - isn't it amazing the reach of social media?  Facebook is the ultimate venue for eavesdropping and snooping on folks who don't even know you exist.  Recently, we stumbled across a beautiful photo that someone had shared.  So beautiful it prompted us to visit the page of the person responsible for the photo.

His name is Rex Pennington of Rex Pennington Photography.
As far as we can tell by snooping on his facebook page, he and his family reside on the shores of Lake Michigan and his photography business is focused on capturing beautiful images.

Visit his facebook page by clicking the link below and tell him Lakehouse Outfitters sent ya!

There were so many beautiful photos on his site, it was hard to narrow our choices to share.  Hope you enjoy the picture show below and do a little snooping on Rex's page of your own.

Now you see them

Now you don't

Catch of the day!
For us, the catch of the day was finding Rex
Hope you enjoyed his photos as much as we do!

30 Lakes in 30 Days - Day Three

Lake Sharing. . .

Day Three of our facebook lake sharing series is compliments of Shelli Jorkos who shared two photos from July 4th at Marble Lake.

Marble Lake, Quincy, Michigan
Marble Lake is 17 miles long and approximately 780 acres (over 3,500 acres in the entire chain).  One of the lakes in the Marble Chain of Lakes.

Wanting to know more about this charming lake community we snooped online and found Cottonwood Resort - a family owned (for over 40 years) Campground  with nearly 100 campsites and five cottages, beautiful sandy beach for swimming and a store that features hand-dipped ice cream!

And from the photos posted on their site - it would appear these folks know how to relax and have fun!

Is that a "shot-ski" we see

Yes, it would appear  to be just that.  A 4-person shot ski

All photos in this section were pulled from the Luau Album
See anyone you know?

Everyone's so happy

Almost everyone. . .

This photo deserves a snappy caption

See ya tomorrow!

PS - keep sharing your photos with us on our facebook page so we can continue to share with
the WORLD!
