L.H.O. welcomes lakegirl to the family

Many of our followers are surprised to learn L.H.O. stands for Lakehouse Outfitters, an unusual name for a consignment home furnishings and decor store in the Dallas Design District.  One customer suggested L.O.H. pitching us on the idea that it sounds better, rolls of the tongue easier as L.O.H..  Another suggested L.A. Joe's "tell her she should rename it L.A. Joe's that's a cool name".  Well, yes sir it is...but our name is all about the dream of living at the lake, not in L.A...so LHO it is!

Lakehouse Outfitters was born from a long standing love affair with the lake; my husbands first true love.  As a boy, his parents spent most every summer on the shores of Priest Lake in northern Idaho.

We married in 1994 and moved to McCall, Idaho on the shores of beautiful Payette Lake.  We ran small businesses and could never afford waterfront, yet we enjoyed living at the lake.  Sunday brunch on the lakeside patio of Shore Lodge and each July 4th we would rent a waterfront cabin and vacation in our home town.

Lake front vacation rental...living the dream one week a year

We moved to Dallas in 2003 and could not believe the number of lakes within 100 miles of Dallas/Ft. Worth!  By 2008 we had convinced ourselves Lakehouse Outfitters could carve out a niche in the marketplace; it was a good fit for us for us and for Texas!  We started with a booth in Canton, selling Vintage Signs personalized (A-B-C) to your family and/or lake and in December of last year we opened L.H.O. Design & Consign on Irving Blvd.

This probably seems like a long winded way of sharing our lakegirl news.  We love this line (for obvious reasons) and hope you do to!  Now available at both our locations, Dallas on Irving Blvd and in Canton during First Monday Trade Days on Row 46, the old Paul Michaels building.
