If you follow this blog, you know we love market samples. A few years ago we had a 5,000 sq foot industrial retail space in Dallas (on Irving Blvd) that was filled several times a year with market sample inventory. As a new business attempting to launch in a failing economy, this merchandise strategy is what helped us develop and grow our customer base and more than a few friendships.
Now that we have the new location in Log Cabin, Texas we are excited to bring samples back into the mix.
If you're not familiar with market samples, here's a brief introduction: Market samples are wholesale product samples recently retired from the floor of wholesale showrooms. They are not considered used furniture/decor as they've never been inside a personal residence. Yet conditions can be less than perfect due to the wear and tear of the wholesale showroom; as they've been on display for retail buyers that come to market several times each year to buy merchandise for their respective retail stores. Because of our relationships with wholesale showroom managers we often have the opportunity to sell their samples and give our customers an opportunity to buy well below suggested retail.
This week we were granted that opportunity and last night we unloaded a cargo van and a 12 foot trailer of furniture, decor and accessories that would work in any town home, lake house, cabin, beach house, hunting cabin or condo.
