This Weekend Make Offer on Red Dot Merch...please!

You could call it the Red Dot Sale as we've done on Facebook and Craigslist. Or possibly a more appropriate title would be the Cindy's Gotta Wild Hair Sale.

Either is fine.  You choose.

Here's the dealio:
  1. All items with a red dot on the tag are expired consignments or store inventory we're sick of looking at
  2. We encourage, strongly encourage you to make offers on red dot merchandise
  3. We will stay open tonight (Friday) until 7pm
  4. Saturday 9-5p
  5. Sunday 12 N - 4pm
Please note:  We have had some pretty aggressive offers accepted.  Do not be bashful - we are not afraid or insulted by any offer you may make.  Final decisions rest with the consignor - we will gladly call any of our consignors and give them the opportunity to sell their merchandise to you.

Items included are on the showroom floor, in our back dock area and the empty space next door.  My landlord would be very happy if we were able to clear out of his space. And consignors happy not to have to come collect their items.

Let's recap:  Come Shop.  Make Offers.  Buy Stuff.  Go Home and Decorate.

See you soon!

What's New Wednesday...American Pickers Style!

Last weekend we really did feel like we were channeling Mike and Frank from the History Channels' American Pickers TV Show.  We were on the road at sunrise...driving Molly (our box truck) east headed to a "Barn Sale" that started at 7:30am! Responding to clients battle cry for the unique, reclaimed, industrial, re purposed pieces to add character and interest to their decor.

BARN SALE OR BUST!  (right after our stop at Starbucks)

Fast forward eight hours later we had broken the fun barrier and it was time to load Molly with our treasures (for you) and head back to Dallas.  Good thing we brought Molly...

As we were loading we finally figured out why no one else was bidding on the 16' counter!  (We are not the smartest of pickers)

What's New Wednesday? Variety!

Count Your Blessings
22" x 10"  $14.70

The most common question from customers (especially first time visitors):
How often do you get new stuff in?

Answer:

Just about every day something new walks in the door!  Some days it might be a couple of throw pillows or a single lamp.  There are other days when someone will show up with a Heywood Wakefield dresser, mirror and chest in the back of their pick-up and on other days it could be decorator at our dock to consign what has been pulled from a recently redecorated or new home.  You just never know!

What we do know is this unpredictable inventory obtainment practice sure keeps us on our toes and keeps customers coming back to be sure not to miss anything.  And for this we are so thankful, we Cuenta Tus Bendiciones every day!

Most Dallas consignment shops all have their own "thing"...and our "thing" is to try not to judge.  If an item is in good condition, has good bones and potential we give it our best shot at finding it a new home.

I think you'll see evidence of just that in this weeks' What's New Wednesday.  Enjoy!

1940's Chair...anyone seen Sex And the City 2?

It's Saturday morning and we've had a nice little rush from Mama's Daughers Diner.  One such customer just commented on one of our new Carolina Girl sofa's..."It's the Sex And the City sofa our friend was just talking about at breakfast!  OM..I can't believe we just had that conversation and we walk in and here it is!"

This got my curiousity up and running so I did a little checking around the old internet, and it seems we have another piece that's very similar to the chairs in Carrie and Big's apartment.  They are 1940 chairs and they are for sale at Bergdorf Goodman, NYC.  Yep...they could be yours.

The Decorative Home Department of Bergdorf Goodman in New York City reports the actual chairs from the film are sitting on the 7th floor!  The chairs were designed by T.H. Robsjohn Gibbings in the 1940's and can be yours for $16,500! If you coveted the decor in this film and are looking to re-create your own nest for you and your Big, head on down.  We'll set you up with two 1940's style chairs at a savings of $15,302.00.  At this rate youcould afford to recover them in gray silk and still be ahead.

1940's Chair Texas Style

Just add you and "your" Big

Carrie and Big

And this gray velvet beauty is what started it all...

What's New Wednesday? We're changing things up!

L.H.O. . .consignment shopping with a twist! If you missed our sneak peek blog post last Friday, you'll be pleased to know (and see) we are now carrying a small boutique line of upholstered furniture. All pieces are hand crafted, limited editions filled with Eco-friendly foam made from soy beans.

Why add new to our resale inventory you ask? Time and time again we have had customers walk in and out because they were looking for upholstered pieces we simply couldn't source by consignment. The available consignment inventory of upholstered furniture just didn't seem to match the needs and wants of our customers. Carolina Girl Furniture represents a nice fit with our style and mission of delivering value, design and attractive pricing.
