Triple D - Drive, Dine and Decorate

Hope you have today off and can enjoy an extra bonus day to your weekend.  If so, and you're looking for activities we have a few suggestions in the Dallas Design District.  Actually, we've created a "route"  to make things easy!

First stop:  Mama's Daughers' Diner for breakfast or lunch for a little comfort food indulgence.   If you're on a diet, just don't order the home made pie for dessert and you'll be fine.

Located on Irving Blvd just north of Turtle Creek.  The link below will take you
to their site with menu and location.  My personal favorite:  Chicken Fried Chicken with mashed potatoes, gravy and corn.  YUM!  The home made rolls and corn bread are delish.

Next Stop:  LHO, we are OPEN today and our SALE is in full swing.  Items with stickers now earn an 25% off the lowest marked price.   Plus, some items have been further reduced to make room for new merchandise.  We are bursting at the seams with great inventory, the front of store is as full as I've seen it in awhile.  Today we are taking in a custom sofa, more ottomans and our animal hides are being restocked.  This weekend we received a darling 1950's box/console type television in pristine condition and several industrial pieces which make amazing wall decor groupings.  Spiders, wheels and tractor seats are our favorites!

If you're wanting to explore the Design District further, here are more of our favorites:

Located on Howell St - they are known for
the unusual

In their New Location!  Having moved after 40 years on Fairmont Street
they are now just a few blocks from LHO on Riveredge

If you're still up for more exploring there is a gob of antique stores on Riverfront Blvd (formerly Industrial Blvd) such as White Elephant, Lost, Found, City View and Lots of Furniture.

Formerly of Lovers Lane...you will now find both SMINK and ANTEKS on Dragon Street.

IF after all this shopping you're in need of a little pick-me-up snack you might try the $1.40 Fuel City Taco's on lower Industrial, this place rocks!  I recently introduced my sweet hubs to Fuel City Tacos and you can see by the photo he was a little suspect at first glance.  Trust me.

Pastor, Picadillo and Barbacoa I can vouch for...
all with corn tortillas and extra salsa

Enjoy your day off...hope we see you.

Cindy
