Janeen's On Lake Time Adventures
Season 2 - Episode 1
After what seemed to us as a long winter with an abundance of storms, white outs and slippery roads we're finally welcoming summer. And as you'll see this season, Janeen has plenty of activities planned to share.Wasting no time once school was out (Janeen teaches) Janeen's On Lake Time adventure took her to the Taverse City State Park Beach on two wheels! She shared her adventure with her nature buddy and fellow Lakegirl, Ellen.
They rode their bikes along the TART trails (Traverse Area Recreational Trail) a 10.5
mile paved trail that connects to resorts, shops, and recreation
areas including Clinch Park at the foot of the Grand Traverse Bay. Traverse City State Park located at the foot of the beautiful
Little Traverse Bay.
For the biking and hiking enthusiasts, Janeen also notes other near by and connecting trails include, Boardman Lake Trail, Three Mile Trail and the Leelanau Trail.

Janeen
and Ellen ended their 10 mile bike trip with a picnic lunch at the
Traverse City
State Park Beach. The beach is just one of the beautiful beaches along
the Little Traverse Bay. The bay is a small bay 170 feet deep, off Lake
Michigan.
The cities of Traverse City, Harbor Springs and Petoskey are well known cities on this bay! It is bordered on the west side by the Old Mission Peninsula where many of the famous Northern Michigan Wines are made. Traverse City is known most for its Cherries. It is also an exploding "foodie" destination with excellent "farm-to-table" cuisine! Chef Mario Batali spends his summers in Traverse City.

Janeen
packed a yummy lunch which included, fresh picked Michigan
strawberries from a local farm, a fabulous Asiago Bread baked fresh at
the Traverse City Bay Bread Company. And a deelish fresh salad of
avacados, sweet corn and white beans, fresh squeezed lime
and a little pepper!! Dark chocolates for dessert!! A glass of
wonderful Traverse City wine would have been nice, but they were
pedaling bikes!!
Special thanks to Janeen and Ellen for sharing their awesome bike ride with us! If you like the On Lake Time Stars, Stripes and Anchor tank Janeen is sporting you can find it HERE along with a new collection of summer apparel designed and worn by women who live at the lake.
